1,450.00

The late nineteenth century revivals consumed the design scene in much of Europe when the upper classes began traveling to places of antiquity, once reserved for royalty or soldiers. Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo and Gothic designs were revived, and defined a stylish home. It was as this interest was turning toward Japonismus, the Japanese Revival of the new century, electricity came into use. Suddenly the details and rich colors of the late nineteenth century were bathed in a new, bright light. These sconces were carved of wood, plastered and gilded in the age of electricity, for a private client. 13 inch H x 5 in W x 6 in D
